About the Book

BURNOUT is for women (or anyone) who has felt overwhelmed and exhausted by everything they have to do, yet still worried they weren’t doing “enough.”

We wrote it because it’s the book we needed ourselves. It contains the science and stories that helped us through some of the roughest times of our lives and even may have saved Amelia’s life - twice.

About the Authors

A sex educator and a choral conductor walk into a bar. The bartender says… “*gasp!* Are they identical?” Yes. But what do sex education and conducting have to do with burnout and wellness? Emily’s Masters’ degree is in counseling and Amelia’s is in choral conducting; one day they realized they both got graduate degrees in how to listen and feel feelings. And thus began their collaboration.

“Wellness is not a state of mind, but a state of action.

it is the freedom to move through the cycles of being human, and this ongoing, mutual exchange of support is the essential action of wellness. It is the flow of givers giving and accepting support, in all its many forms.

The cure for burnout is not “self-care”; it is all of us caring for each other.”
